OZ Talking (오즈의 지식토킹) is a newsletter published from Seoul, South Korea by Kwangseob Ahn ("Oswarld"). This notice explains what we store on your device and what data we process, with particular attention to readers in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the UK.
Cookies and local storage we use
- First-party analytics (local storage). We assign a random,
pseudonymous identifier (
oz_aid) in your browser's local storage to count readers and understand which sections of an article are read. It contains no personal details and is never shared with third parties. In the EEA this identifier is only set after you accept cookies — until then, analytics are collected anonymously. We honor the Do Not Track browser setting. - Advertising cookies (Google AdSense). We show ads via Google AdSense, which may set third-party cookies. For EEA/UK visitors, ad cookies and ad personalization are disabled by default (Google Consent Mode) and are enabled only if you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner. - Consent preference. Your cookie choice itself is stored in local
storage (
oz_consent) so we don't ask again on every visit. - Membership session (members only). If you sign in or purchase a membership, a session cookie keeps you signed in. This is strictly necessary and not used for tracking.
Data we process
- Email subscription. If you subscribe, we store your email address to deliver the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email or by contacting us.
- Payments. International membership payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (merchant of record); Korean payments by NICE Payments. We never see or store your card number — we keep only the payment reference, amount, and your email.
Your choices and rights
You can withdraw or change your cookie consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser (the banner will appear again). EEA/UK readers may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data (email address, membership records) at any time.
